The alpha devilishly asked while kissing the nape of my neck.
"I wish I did," I whisper, not fighting the blazing trail of kisses down my collar bone.
"Then, stop fighting me. Accept me. I am your alpha, after all."
"I will never accept you as my alpha nor as my mate."
"We shall see my little one. We shall see."

Pearl is at the bottom of her rope. If she doesn't find a job, she will be out on the streets. Day after day, she desperately hopes to hear at least one, yes, but she is turned away. Some are running from her the moment they hear her name.
Pearl receives a blank envelope with a stamp made of red clay and the initials CH engraved in the center. To her surprise, it is an application to work at Charleston Inn.

“Would you like to arrive at the hotel bare ass naked with me? That might leave some explaining to do to Charles and Richard.”
“Charles can go to hell!” I growl.
“And Charles?” Erik dares and dangles it in the air.
“Give. Me. The. Shirt.” I snarl.
“That’s what I thought,” he snickers.
I slide the black shirt on until it fits just below my thighs. Erik’s baby blue eyes observe me while I tug at the seams. “We should get going.”
“I agree,” he says, and he walks several feet in front of me, leaving me to my thoughts.
More guilt spreads across my subconscious, knowing how easy it is to get along with Erik. He is nothing like Charles. Nothing at all.

“No.” I hiss.
“Why not? Life would be so much easier for you. No more worries about Charles or Richard. No more worries about them…”
“Because...”
“I’m listening?”
“Because I don’t need you anymore. If I wanted to do it, I would do it myself.”
Life has just begun for Pearl, Charles, and Richard. The three alphas can barely convince the packs they are meant to survive in the same town together, let alone the same country. It doesn’t help that Richard and Charles are still against odds, and strange things keep happening to Pearl.
Pearl hasn’t been able to seek answers about her past from Second Chance. Every time she tries to go, something stops her, but all that is about to change with one offer that is about the throw everyone’s game for a loop.

This man, this mesmerizing dark angel, spells nothing but power and seduction, and all I can do is stare hopelessly, knowing that my time is about up in this hell of a dream.
The dark angel surprises by spreading his wings and flying off the island. He hovers right above me. I stare in awe.
“Wh-who are you?” I stammer, but he doesn’t answer.
He flies so close that I smell hints of cedar and spices and his calming breath. The pupils in his eyes dilate several times before he inhales my scent. “Brea,” he whispers my name ever so sweetly.
“You know who I am?” I gasp in shock.
“Of course, I do.”
When he speaks, his voice sounds so deep, it sends shivers through my body and right to my soul.
“Then, who are you?” I ask while watching his wings spread around me.
“It’s time, Brea.”
